Take a break sometimes..Sometimes It feels like nobody wants to hire you, and you feel like you can do better than the people there..happens to me too! Those online applications dont seem to work at all..You just have to go there and apply I guess.
Keep trying..Good luck!

First of all, everyone has that when it comes to a point that you don't feel accepted. That lowers down your self esteem automatically. However, the way to cope with it is

1. Of course, get a job. You have to lower your expectation. Let's say you used to make $70,000, you should lower down to 40,000 or 35,000. Don't let your pride get over you. Get a low pay job first, and then look for better one later one. The most important thing now is to be recognized

2. Talk to people, seek for support. Of course, networking for job is essential. However, if you find out more people are in situation like yours, you will automatically feel better.

3.Do something. Of course, get a full time, the job you always wanted with $$$ is your goal. However, during situation like yours, you should at least get a part time job or if money allows, learn something, do something constructive. If it doesn't allow, try to find any decent part time job even pay is low

4. Learn from mistake.Put all interviews in your note such as why you fail the interview, what company, how much they asked or you asked for. I used to do that so that I know what I will do in the next interview. One time, the interview kept looking at my shoes, so I realized some people like to see shiny shoes. And other I had this injury in my ears, I had to put bandaid on it, and I think that caused my job because they might think I had a fight even they didn't ask why. That is important to learn from mistake.

5. Pray, of course, if you are a believer, faith is very important.

Good luck!

Hey man,if this might help you,I'm in your same shoes.I finished my last job in September,it was just a summer job indeed and am looking for a new one ever since.Depressing? No,it's worse than that. And with Christmas coming it's even worse.I think I feel exactly like you.I don't know where you live but in my village and surroundings the possibilities are like zero. But I must say that according to some mine previous experiences, you will probably get something when you less expect it.And not only that, but it happened to me that I was offered different jobs all in a few days.
So,please,do like me.Get depressed because it's normal, but don't give up.I'm sure you'll find something. And,please, let me know when this happens,it would be nice to discuss this matter with you.

I was in your boat. I searched for 7 months to be exact. I started working for myself. I like it because the holidays are coming around, I have 3 kids, and I needed to start making some money. I get paid daily, I have health benefits, 401K etc. I'm still trying to build it up so that I'm making a really great income, and it's growing. But it feels good to finally see some checks coming in as I do the work. And I do it from my home, which is also a plus.

Try posting your qualifications on www.monster.com, or www.careerbuilder.com. That way, when you are looking, potential employers can see your resume and contact you.

Sometimes you can get frustrated, but never give up. also, pick up a job in a different field for the meantime if you are not currently working. Potential employers do not like big gaps of time in the work history. That includes like working for your local department store. Any work history is good work history.

I feel ya. I quit my job last December so it has been almost a year! I send resumes everywhere but still no luck.

I go to college at night, so that keeps me busy, and my Husband makes enough money to support us.

But it is very discouraging. Keep trying though, and maybe in the mean time take up a new hobby to keep you busy!

Good luck!

I know! I hate this. I got fired because of a stupid vannila ice cream that was left in the back of the trunk and melted! It was 4 feet tall and about 1 feet wide canned. I am searching for a job for about a year or so. My profession was actually a car driver in LG corporation. My boss is the boss of LG!!!!!! And I just arrived from Korea and Japan. Yeah, that's what happened.

Sure, it can be discouraging just to think about it! But keep motivated by thinking about how good you'll feel in a rewarding new job, with a nicer salary, good benefits, and neat co workers. Good luck!

I never had to look for a job. I applied at a crappy place, got hired. I joined the military, got hired.
