The best example to follow is Jesus....and after that, His apostles....they prayed, and spoke with love, boldness, and gentleness in the face of great rejection and persecution...and also practiced the love and truth that they preached....pray that God will open a door for you, then walk in it...and let God grow the seeds that you plant in His timing!! God bless for caring enough to do that!

What different religion are you talking about? Do you mean elderly Muslims or elderly Jews? If you mean elderly Jews, then don't you dare! What do you mean by "they are very strick (sic) in their religion? And you're not? Don't you dare try to convert Jews...leave us alone! What's wrong with you? You always use the word "witness" probably because it sounds less intimidating. But what you are doing is actually giving people UNASKED-FOR advice and that's just plain wrong.

The Holy Spirit gives each of us a gift. Whether it be healing, preaching, tongues etc.
Pray for enlightenment of what your gift is. Once you know take if from there.
From my experience there was alot of success from believe it or not song.
See what works for you. You may need to bring someone along who has a gift of preaching if that is not your calling.

There is also alot of evil in those places so when you go go in groups of three and pray before and after you are finished.

Use a quiet voice while talking to them. They will hear you if they want.
As people age they have a different perceptive on religion.
Remember Jesus said 'let no man tell you know the Lord as you all shall know Him'
We are all born with that knowledge of the Lord in us and with our free will we either except or deny it. Most of the elderly just need someone to confirm their acceptance of what they already know to be true.
Perhaps it can be as simple as asking them if they want to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Honey, if you want to "witness" do it through your actions. Volunteer at an assisted living facility. Become an advocate for elder rights.

Read to those who have vision trouble - NO, NOT YOUR HOLY BOOK, whatever they would like to have read to them.

Feed those who have palsy - NO, NOT YOUR RELIGION'S DOCTRINE, but *food*.

Bring well-trained dogs to visit with them, and refrain from any parables about sheep and shepherds.

Keep your mouth shut, your heart open, and live your religion.

You can witness all you want but I can bet you they have been around a lot longer than you and are even more set in their ways than you are. I would say go ahead and give them all you got..Perhaps they can persuade you into acknowledging the fact that there is more than ONE CORRECT way to do EVERYTHING!..

Just let them live in peace. They don't want to be bothered by you--and neither do I! If they end up in hell because they aren't Christian, then it isn't your problem. Jesus got mad at people for preaching in the streets and forcing religion, and that is exactly what you are doing when you "witness" to people.

Just live your life in a way that honours Jesus. I'm sure they will see something different about you and when they ask you can tell them what gives you that light.

Leave them alone. Especially since they have more life experience than you. My ATHEISM has taught me how to respect the elderly.
