Why would you even consider doing that??? There's just no good reason to do it so DON'T.

The whiskers DO grow back, despite the misinformation you'll find from other posters here. It's not uncommon for cats to lose whiskers due to overzealous grooming, walking too close to a flame, etc. etc. etc. And while it is true that cats rely heavily on those whiskers and the sensory information they provide as they navigate tight spaces, etc., cutting them off doesn't mean your cat will go crazy and that the whiskers won't grow back.

Let me start out by saying I think it completely cruel. However, my one male cat chews off the whiskers above the eyes of my other cat and those do grow back. I don't know about the ones around the mouth though.

Why would you do that! Cats need whiskers! Whiskers are the same width of their body so they know if they fit in tight places or not.

I once heard that you're not supposed to cut a cats whiskers because it effects their sense of space, and my husband thinks it makes them crazy ;)

a cat whiskers are part of its sensory system. whiskers allow a cat to determine if it's body can pass through a narrow opening. why would you want to cut them?

You should NEVER cut off a cat's whiskers. They are like fingertips--they do have feeling. They use their whiskers to "see" in the dark and judge depth. It would be animal abuse to cut them off.

I'm truly hoping that you just don't know alot about cats and that you're not that stupid. Cats' whiskers act like "feelers" for them in the dark. They can detect things with them. And no, they don't grow back.

i don't think they will ever grow back, BEWARE, your cat will probably get stuck somewhere.
they use there whiskers as a guide to make sure they can fit into small places. if the ends of whiskers dont touch opening cats think they can fit.
Good luck ...

Why would you want to cut them off? God gave them to the cat for a reason. Leave them alone.

About the same amount of time it would take you to grow your balls back if they were cut off.
