Many small poodle crosses don't shed (I have an Eskipoo; 8 lb full grown and no shedding). She'd be fine in an apartment (although I live in a house), but like any dog she needs exercise (generally one fairly long walk per day).

How about a small poodle. They don't shed and are very smart. Or a shih tzu they also do not shed and make wonderful pets. Go to your local animal shelter and take a look around ask questions. I know there is a dog there that will capture your heart.

Toy Poodle. They are small(tiny bladder) and take longer than usual to potty train(up to a year, really). However once you do, they are one of the smartest dogs you can own. Oh and they do not shed. You do need to groom them every 6 weeks or so. Their "hair" grows and will get matted without care. They are so loving and so sweet and so smart. Whatever you decide to go with, good luck and have fun.

I live in a 750 sq ft apartment and have a shih tzu. He doesn't shed (I take him to the groomers once a month or once every few months depending on when he needs it), and he seems happy living in the apartment. We go on our walks, and he loves the interaction with the people in the complex, and the other dogs. A lot of apartment complexes now are building "bark parks" where you can take your dog off their leash and let them roam around freely. Mine has that and my dog loves it. I've also seen Pugs in the complex, a few beagles, some other shih tzus. Mainly smaller dogs. Have fun looking around!

Well my favorite small dog is a dashound. I have a Double Dapple he is a miniture he has blue eyes and has the colors of a Calhula Cur (black gray and white) Dashounds are very good dogs loving, sweet, and will keep you laughing when you have had a bad day. But not everyone likes dashounds so here is a site that will show you and tell you all about the different breed of dogs. .

Peek-A-Poo's are a great dog for an apartment. They're friendly, easy to house trian and low maintenance. I had one for about 13 years and that was the best dog I've ever had or will ever have. Also, a Yorkie is a good dog but they are high maintenance and some tend to be hyper and bark alot. But they're cute and small. Hope this helps.

I would recommend a Teacup Yorkie, mine is four months old now. She's trained to use pee pads and their hair is more like human hair so there is no shedding. Good luck on your pet search.

Little Yorkshire Terriors are cute and small and don't shed, and I've even heard they can be trained to use a litter box!

Check petsmart.com & click on the dogs link on top, scroll down to the bottom & click on the link to research on the dog guide. They tell how big they get, if they shed, how active, good apt. dog or not, etc. Happy Hunting!
