It happened a few month's ago when I was burning a cd. Actually it was when I was seeing if the cd I burnt was okay. As I was paying the recently burnt cd and the sound cut out partway through. My speakers are wortking fine: I hear my regular computer sounds. I can play music on limewire etc. I've gone in checked the sound levels and nothing is muted I even downloaded a new version of windows media player so I don't know whats up . If you have any ideas let me know. I haven't had a ton of computer experience so if anyone wants to answer this please be clear thanks

There is a little wire that goes from the back of your CD drive to your motherboard. Make sure this is not loose.
