I know using regular soap is bad, but I know using fragrance free type stuff isn't too bad...but which kind is the best? I don't want to spend a ton of money I only have it in a small area. I am currently using some dermarest products but I still use regular body wash. Anyone know of anythign that I can use?

My husband has had severe psoriasis for many many years now, and he has always been told to use ONLY Dove or Ivory soap.

I was diagnosed with psoriasis at age 14 and now I am 36 years old. You can say that I have tried just about every medicine both approved by FDA and trial without much success. Examples include Enbrel, Humira, oral meds, creams, oils, salts, coal tar, etc and the list is much more extensive that I can't even remember all of the names. I only wish I'd taken photos of before and after because it truly has been miraculous. I am getting married in Oct, 2015 and I am wearing a strapless gown that also shows my back and I am confident (not like before) that my skin will be soft and pretty vs red and flakey.

The cause of psoriasis is overreaction of the immune system. Keeping it in a balanced state is the key point of battling this disease. I try to eat healthy food, as less red meat as possible, and avoid stress as much as I can.
After using number of prescription drugs I've turned to the natural treatment. And it worked!

Any liquid soap or gel that has alcohol in it will dry the skin. Also watch out for toothpastes, shampoos, cosmetics and skin-care products that contain a skin irritant called sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS). It is a foaming agent but irritates skin. Ironically, oe of the products it is commonly found in is aqueous cream, which a recent survey found nine out of ten GPs wrongly recommend for eczema. Try switching to Dexeryl, an emollient that has no SLS and is free from lanolin and fragrance, which can also cause irritation.

the best soap to use on your skin for psoriasis is selsun blue shampoo. i've given this advice before and my friends were very thankful for the advice
