This does not make u look desperate. I have been in this same situation, I was w/ the guy for almost 7 yrs after he cheated, I do think that once a guy cheats and u let it go they think that gives them the right to do it again. I was blinded by the love I had for him. But just be careful and watch for signs that he may be cheating again. If he does, then get out. There are plenty of guys out there that are committed to the relationship they are in and if he is not then u need to find someone who is.

The truth is.... Who cares how other's see you.
There isn't a single person on Yahoo Questions that has to walk in your shoes or sleep in your bed. So forget about wondering how you look to others.
He cheated on you, you have obviously started to get over that and offer at least some level of forgiveness. If you think and only if YOU think the two of you have some chance to move on together then go for it. But don't throw caution to the wind, keep an eye on things and at the first sign of trouble you will have to react.
It really dosen't matter what any of us think, as long as you are sure you can trust him to a level that is acceptable to you.
Good luck and I hope it all works out the way you desire.

Although once a cheater always a cheater is what most think. And I am one of them. Each person is different. If you get back together and the relationship is different and you know that he is not cheating then I guess you don't look desperate. But why you would care what anyone thinks about it? If you feel you made the right decision is all that should matter right?

Not desperate, just stupid. There's a reason the saying "once a cheater, always a cheater" has stayed around as long as it has. Now he knows that he can cheat on you and get away with it, like rewarding bad behavior in a pet. Since he has now gotten away with it once he figures that there is nothing to stop him from doing it again.

pretty much. Makes you look like a complete pushover - like someone who is easy to step all over. Like you have no spine.
that or that you are very forgiving and optimistic. But most people will think you are pretty stupid - going back to him is basically saying "what you did was OK, so I'll reward you for it"

No it doesn't make you look desperate. It makes you look like you really care for and love this guy to give him another chance. But just to say it-if he continues to cheat on you, then you need to move on or you would indeed look desperate.

Not necessarily desperate but perhaps somewhat naive to think he won't cheat again. Most cheaters are not going to stop...
