I mean, right and wrong should be common sense in our own heads, not something a book instructs correct?

I fully agree with you. Too many people use the bible as a perfect road map to being a perfect person no matter what's right or wrong. :)=

Common Sense is the standard for behavior? Already we have problems because our standards have slipped from the status quo. Look at the issue of abortion, do "mothers" take responsibility for the murder of their own children?

Ok, if your theory were correct, then what's the point of laws?? Many people don't have common sense, and laws give a basis for enforcing rules.

It's about time that people took responsibilty for their own behaviour and used the Bible to do it, yes. Or did I misundrestand the question?

Ironically, one of the core teachings of the Bible IS the concept of personal responsibility for one's life and one's actions.

If people do that, they will soon be expected to look at all of the failures of their lives.
They will have no one to blame for their poor education, their minimum wage job, their abusive family, their drug addiction, their teenage pregnancy.
They will have to get off of welfare and make it on their own.

THE WORLD CANNOT HANDLE THAT YET.
