If you were given the choice to raise a child somewhere else besides America. Where would you go and describe the main reasons why??

Finland...I've read that their school system is remarkable. I would love to give my little one the best chance. America's school system isn't as good as it used to be. The teachers are underpaid and don't seem to care anymore (there are exceptions of course) and there is way too much violence in schools.

I love America, but I would go to Italy or Paris France and raise my daughter for a while if I could. Both places are very beautiful to me, I have heard a variety of interesting things about both places, and I think the experience would be matchless!

This will not occur for most of us, but it is nice to dream and is parallel to the fact that everyone should aspire to travel and visit places with their children in an effort to show them that there is life beyond America; people live different, talk different, have different practices, eat varieties of food, dress differently, etc.

I can just imagine my daughter, talking another language, having a different style of dress, eating Italian food, having friends of a different ethnicity etc. More than anything, I would like for her to see how spoiled we are as Americans...

If i was to raise a child from another country it would be from Ecuador. The reason I would pick Ecuador is because one my family is from Ecuador and I know how it is to live in Poverty because everytime I go to Ecuador I see little kids ages 2-6 in the streets selling candy and doping tricks just to get a few cents. So therefore I would raise a foreign child.

I would raise them here because of all the freedoms that America has that other coultries do not.And I know that this country is full of bad things-and more kids are doing horrible things at younger ages-and school shootings are rising. It scares me-but you have to pray and hope for the best for your child's life-and hope he makes good choices in life.My son-now 18 months-is going to be going to a private Christian school when the time comes though-my hubby and I have already decided on this.

i think i would like to take aspects of many different places and mesh them into one. I like the freedom we have here in America but school systems else where are much better with their curriculum and i don't recall hearing about school shootings else where in the world, just here in America. so in answer to your question, a mesh of all places in an ideal world.... unfortunately that will never happen and i wont move out of America so this is where i Will raise my children and send them to school. But when they are school age they aren't going to school in the district that my town is in the school is terrible. They will all go to the school in the next town over in order to get a better education.

I'm a patriot but I'll leave off the US only sentiment.
Probably Switzerland - every study I've ever read says it's the best place to live in the world. Low crime, high incomes, high average life span, low disease, no wars - pretty good stuff

I'd say Italy. Main reasons being that I'm Italian, it's a beautiful country, and the food is to die for :-)

If you can't stay here, which is my 1st choice:

*Japan, for academic reasons.
*Germany, for socialized medicine.
*Canada, because it's closer to home.

These are not in order of choice. It depends on what is important to you.
