One of my favorites is "Yesterday is history, tomorrow's a mystery, today is a gift. That's why we call it the present." I do live my life by it now, but I did not always do that. I have learned that there is no point worrying about the past - it is finished and cannot be changed, and worrying about the future is a waste of time and energy because worrying does not change anything.
Another of my favorite quotes is quite long, too long to write here, though I know it by heart. For more than 30 years Desiderata has made a huge difference in my life. Here is a link to it. I hope you find it thought provoking.
Best of luck.

My favorite quote "Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, Champagne in one hand, strawberries and chocolate in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out an screaming Woooooo Hooooo What a Ride!!" And yes I try to live it every day of my life.

I love Rodney Dangerfield quotes because they are so funny and self-deprecating. "I am a really bad lover. Yesterday I heard a peeping Tom booing me.'
My mantra is This is the day the Lord hath made. I choose to enjoy it no matter what comes my way. I decided about 10 years ago that I was tired of getting jerked around emotionally by things outside of myself. anyway, it made a difference in my life.

These are my favorite two quotes.
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. We ask ourselves: Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.”
Marianne Williamson
Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici.
By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.
I am happy to say that I live by both of them and they have changed my life in ways even I do not fully understand.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” M.W.
best quote ever...yeah i live by it.

"For he is our Peace, he who made both one and broke down the dividing wall of enmity."
Damn, I can't remember the chapter or verse, but its from the New Testament.
I don't want to write a novel here, so I won't go into the big reason why this is so important to me, except that an event surrounding this verse essentially proved the existence of some higher being in my life.
Other than that, I like the fact that this verse portrays Jesus as someone who came here to unite humanity, not to be used as an excuse to divide, kill, and conquer.

Ecc 5
18 Then I realized that it is good and proper for a man to eat and drink, and to find satisfaction in his toilsome labor under the sun during the few days of life God has given him—for this is his lot. 19 Moreover, when God gives any man wealth and possessions, and enables him to enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy in his work—this is a gift of God. 20 He seldom reflects on the days of his life, because God keeps him occupied with gladness of heart.
This quote relieved me of the burden of continuously STRIVING for MORE AND MORE (read American dream). It probably saved me from an early heart attack.

Do onto others as you would have them do onto you. I have said this as far back as I can remember and still do. I have always lived by this rule. Usually leaves me having given lots more than I get back but has also brought me a lot. In the end I will be better off.
