i think they have some great stuff But some of it is pricey. They have become huge and local councils seem to roll over for them with regards to planning etc, because tescos will lobby them, but ultimately can afford the court fees if the local council dont agree with them. Can any shop compete with tescos?? No, at the moment here in Bangor we have all the large stores apart from asda, and tescos is the busiest by a long long way anytime of the day i think the others will close eventually, perhaps that will happen all over the counrty and all we will be left is tesco with no competeition, scary

Ive never understood why people shop there, but they do, in ever increasing numbers, so they must be doing something right. The most successful british supermarket of all time. Ashton G, Walmart do not own Tesco, Walmart own Asda.

Where I live, in Cornwall, I feel they are getting too big for their boots, their stock control is rubbish, always running out of lines. They do not support local suppliers and if you ask them why, they say they can't get deliveries, which is nonsense because my local Asda has a huge selection of Cornish made foodstuffs and the shelves are always fully stocked. Can't stand the atmosphere in Asda though...... Tesco should take a look at the American Safeway operation, it is brilliant.

They were the first to set up the online ordering service and to be honest you get a lot for £5.99 although some of the substitutions you get are a bit thoughtless. I'd rather do that than traipse round a heaving supermarket on a Saturday morning any day.

Well its just proove that walmart is taking over the world really since they own tescos I love being able to shop 24 hours but I went in the other day for a highlighting kit and they did't have it. There clothing range is ******* crap its all beige and pastel colours if you shop there for your clothes you'll be as fashoinable as a mexican in a thrift store.

They aren't that cheap, but the larger stores are popular because they have such a massive selection of everything, including electronics, homewares etc.
If you don't have transport, the online delivery service is pretty good, but the delivery charges can be a bit steep.
Personally, I prefer Morrisons or Sainsburys. They feel a little more upmarket.

They are alright. They have done some good in the retail world, so I don't think you can knock them.
As a business man - working on tenders etc in the middle of the night, they are very handy to be able to go and get some envelopes when you run out!
