My fiance and i are going to jamaica for our honeymoon. His mother does the travel agent thing so she got it for really cheap and its all inclusive. However, his family will be there at the same time. They had already planned to go and it would have been a cheap trip for us to go. We won't be on the same flight as them so its not like we'll actually be with them. We probably won't even see them plus we're going on a cruise with my family a couple months later so we need to save as much money as possible. Does anyone think thats weird? I just want a nice inexpensive honeymoon and this sounds like our best bet.

Enjoy sweetie! This is perfectly acceptable. Just make sure your in-laws know that you need privacy in your honeymoon and that socializing with them there during your honey moon won't be possible ot that it will be extremely limited.

They should understand that this is your time together as a couple. Your fiance should tell them this as they are his parents.

Tell them also that you appreciate their thoughfulness to get this trip so unexpensibly for you and that you will have time to socialize with them properly during the upcoming cruise.

Congratulations and good luck

I just got back from my honeymoon, and I think it would be weird if my family or my husband's family was there. If both you and your husband don't have a problem with it, then I don't see why you shouldn't go. The fact that you'll be vacationing with your family in a few months seems to indicate that family travel is OK with both of you.

Hopefully they're the type of family that will give you space on your romantic holiday!

It does not sound weird to me. It's not like you will be having dinner with your family every night or anything. It's a large resort, I am sure, and you will have plenty of privacy. I don't think it is odd at all. Enjoy yourselves and enjoy the trip even more knowing you saved a bit of money and still had a beautiful trip!

I think it's weird if you are staying at the same resort or even on the same island if you plan to do activities and tours. Change resorts or better yet islands, or take your honeymoon a week late or something. Really they should be the ones to change their plans; how rude! (I say this bc even though they may not be planning to hound you, you WILL run into them on a regulat basis).

I don't think it is too wierd. If you are comfortable with it. I would just make sure that everyone knows that it is your honeymoon and you are not obligated to see them at all during your stay. If you would like to have dinner with them one night, that's at your discretion. They should not get offended or hold it against you because you didn't spend x amount of time with them on your honeymoon.
I would make a point to do things that I knew they weren't doing. Like go snorkeling on a day they are not, etc...

Well, yeah. If you want it to be cheap this is a really good idea. Just remember that it is your honeymoon and not a family vacation!!

I say go for it, especially if it's affordable. And even if you get together with the family while in Jamaica it's not like you won't have your "alone" time with your new husband.

Just go and enjoy it. Plan to have dinner or something at least once with his family. have your fiance talk with his family to have an understanding that you two will be doing your own thing and that there won't be much interaction.

I'm sure that's what they're expecting anyway.

I think it sounds nice. As long as you have some time for yourselves. Have fun! It should be a nice memory.
