you do not believe and respect the Creator?

Would you be careful and respectful if you stole the product or service you are using?

Wouldn't you be more careful and respectful if you actually bought the product or service? Because only then you'd know its value...Right?

Would you respect a product or service, if you did not respect the manufacturer who made it?

Atheists, your answers show how shallow your thinking is. You pretend to take things literally but deep inside, I know that you clearly understand this question.

So wish you well!

In addition to God and religion in general, morality is also open to interpretation. Many laws and personal beliefs are based on some sort of religious founding. Personally, I am an agnostic, but I still think religious structures, such as the Ten Commandments, are fine things to abide by, but there is no credibility that these should be followed. Even if you buy a product or service, will you know its value. Maybe, maybe not. It is all up to the person. I'm sure many goods and services that are stolen are greatly appreciated because they would be had otherwise, if they needed to by bought because many people woould not have the money for them.

As far as creation is concerned, there is no basis for creationism or evolution. Hence, I am agnostic, as previously mentioned. Why would we respect something that we do not see, hear, talk with, or understand? Human instinct to see before believing, and before seeing, doubt. You cannot assuredly tell me there is a creator, you can only go on faith. In essence, you could be respecting something that is not there. To many people, a Creator or God is a strange concept. It just goes against normal human logic to believe in an old man in the sky passing judgment on everyone below. Perhaps you are thinking of another type of creator - one who is all love and kindness and justice? But when you read about killings and carnage, can you blame people for not believing in such a God? Yet many, if not most, of these 'non-believers' are full of respect and care and have never stolen a thing in their life. In this commercial culture we live in, we would be very unwise to believe everything we are told, so why should we not use the same attitude towards a creator or God?

For me personally, speaking as an individual, my breath is more important to me than God. Without it I would have nothing, no existence, no life, no feelings, not even the possibility of discussing God. But my breath brings me all the loving, caring, honest, wonderful feelings I could ever possibly want. What more could anyone ask for?

If by creation you mean life and the world? I do respect this planet we live on. I do respect people. Why do I respect it? Because I respect life and taking care of the planet we live on. God has nothing to do with it.

Stealing? I am not stealing anything

Bought the product? Ha Ha are you comparing God to a product? This is too funny. I actually like this question the more I read it. It's amusing.

Wrong! I know the value full well. You are just trying to sell me some **** and call it something else. Try selling your "product" to someone else.

(I expect to hear about this one)

Are you suggesting that while Atheists have stolen existence, Believers have bought it? The counter-argument might be, if you believe the Universe, product, or service really belongs to someone else, wouldn't you be less careful with it.

The argumental fallacy you've used is called a "Faulty Analogy." You cannot compare all of existence with a single product.

EDIT: Your judgment of "You Atheists" is unwarranted. Your question is poorly phrased, only after reading some of the other responses did I know what you were asking. And also, do not tell anyone else what they believe "deep inside."

At least the creation (i.e. universe) exists.

Are you trying to argue that I should somehow convince myself that a god somewhere exists so that I would be more careful with the universe? How does one break a universe anyway?

Sorry, but the universe stands on its own. There is much to be impressed with in the universe. I don't need to make up any gods to be more impressed by it.

1) If a god exists, you still haven't bought a universe, so by your logic you still wouldn't be respectful of it.
2) You can value something without owning it.
3) You can respect something without owning it.

Wrong. Purchasing something entitles you to do whatever you want with it. That means you can trash it if you don't like it. Whereas if you don't personally own something but must share it with everyone else, you must then be more careful about how you treat it as you will have to answer to others if you treat it badly.

Being respectful of the universe and world we live in need not be based on belief in some diety. For example, respect for our earth can very well be based on preserving its vitality for future generations (our children and their children). There are other reasons for treating our world in the best way we can besides "because god said to".

What an utterly moronic statement.
In fact you'll find that it is christians that take what they have for granted.
Instead of cherishing where we live, you use it like a roll of never-ending toilet paper, and with about as much respect too.
Sorry to break it to you but we are stewards of this planet, and so far you have all done lousy jobs of it.
For example, try finding some non-polluted free flowing water in the Continental US. You can't so don't bother.
Great going morons.

I'm not really sure what you're asking. I know the universe exists, I just don't believe, as some religious people do, that an intelligent, all-knowing, all-powerful deity created it.

One doesn't have to believe that the universe was created by a god to respect its beauty.

Lets pretend for a moment (only not any longer than that) that you are correct....

Then I ask you - why do you not give the same respect to the things your religion has stolen, such as Oestra (Easter) and Christmas (pagan holliday) and the Mithras legend (virgin birth, entombed in a rock cave, ressurected after three days.)

You start giving THOSE THINGS RESPECT, and Ill start respecting what you think Im stealing....

Who stole "life"? Did I? I don't recall thinking "hey this looks good in the window... I think I'll jack it". No......

And you're assuming that there is a creator. You believe it. You don't know it. Even if the Bible tells you and you trust the Bible completely. You still only believe.
