If the snipers that kill soldiers in Iraq never get caught by the military because they take off once a soldier is shot, do you think it's as easy to do it here in the US with civilians or government workers 'n' stuff?

The soldiers always run in their humvee instead of looking for the sniper.

Your typical Iraqi sniper . . . dies. (Of course that is if he accidentally gets a bullet close enough to US troops that they notice.)

FYI - the typical sound of a firefight in Iraq is first AKs firing on full automatic. Then a few single shots from M16s. After that - silence. One lesson that the enemy in Iraq has consistently failed to learn is that the only bullet that counts is the one that hits its target.

I am not sure where you heard that the US soldiers are always running away in their humvees but you have been misinformed. Perhaps these soldiers were not properly equipped to deal with a sniper but there are soldiers who are equipped and they do find and successfully capture and occasionally kill the insurgent snipers.

Ask John Allen Muhammed and Lee Boyd Malvo, the DC snipers.

Of course, in Iraq most snipers aren't caught -- they're killed.

Things such as that are less likely to succeed in a country with a good economy and an established infrastructure. For instance, in Iraq it is much more likely that cops or Iraqi army personell will be sympathetic or in the pocketbook of the perpetrators. By contrast, In U.S. more people would sympathise with victims and police and be much more likely than Iraqis in their situation to turn over information that they have.
Malvo is a good example. He eventually did get caught.

Why are you even asking this question??? Thats a good way to get the Feds down on you...... And the U.S soldiers don't always run .... I mean you see them run for their hummers... Somtimes thats a temporary hidding place while they try to locate the sniper, I mean who wants to just stand there with a pair of binocs in the open, and be like " Hey Sarge' I think I see him...." Thats an open invitation for target practice...

Your chances are not good. That muslim ... whats his name ??? Something Malvo ...
He was a trained sniper and he got caught.

I once heard a lawyer tell his client "Don't do any more crimes...you are too stupid and will be caught."

Take the hint.
