i am currently running vista beta(build 5600) but i have access to download build 6000
however i dont have a dvd-rw so can i download it to my 2nd hard drive(d:storage) and install it from there if i can convert the iso image to something i can run
any ideas?

Don't install from your second drive. Microsoft documentation on this is limited at this point but we do know the iso they give you is a image to build from. Its really meant to be done from either a dvd or a network install point. See links I provided to give you some more information. The second link has a step by step guide.

Download the program IsoMagic. It will recognize the format that Vista ISO images are put in (UDF). www.Magiciso.com if you open it up in the program, you can extract to the d:\ drive and run setup.exe file.
