I am writing a paper and my thesis is the following:

A soldier's life during war is a near-death experience with a never ending tast of fear climbing up into their throats; a complete opposite than that displayed by recruiters.

I can't speak for everyone in the military...But I can tell you that my recruiter was completely honest. He said that basic freakin' sucked, but graduation was one of the best days of his life. And everyone should know that when the enlist they're opening themselves up for the possibility of going to war....If they're too dumb to know that then it's not the recruiters fault if they have a bad experience in the military- it's their own.

Wow, you are obviously someone who has no knowledge whatsoever of the military or the people who serve. Some recruiters may give misleading statements, but to pretend that our troops are lulled into this fantasy world and then shoved into a life of "never ending fear" is ludicrous.

My husband and brother in law are active duty Air Force and my other BIL is Army. All three are proud to be enlisted and were well aware of the commitment they were making. While I can only vouch for my husband's recruiter, I found him to be excellent. He was very honest, open and forthcoming. He even made sure to check up on my me while my husband was away in basic training.

I'll have to ask, but last time I checked I don't think my husband has fear climbing up his throat on a constant basis.

Educate yourself and stop falling for the liberal based media bias. Our troops volunteer for their jobs, they are not forced into it.

So you want to write fantasy?

Why do people like yourself even think that you know what combat is like? Because you watched all of the 'Rambo' movies or something?

No. Just write the story ...beginning, middle and end. You can title each paragraph and /or number them. Just let it flow correctly, don't repeat yourself. We all know recrutiers that lie...(not all, but many) they are burdened with quotas to meet.

Enlist in the military.
That way you can research your book first-hand.

well, unless you are going to fantasyland, you need to change your thesis. BTW, have you ever served, if not, why not.
