It really does depend upon what you want to specialize in. I will say like most have the Air force is better for a married person. My husband is Navy, my father was navy and so was my grandfather. I love the Navy, but the Air Force is better for Families than the Navy.

I just wrote about the benefits of being Navy, but I can say the Air Force is a bit better for people who want a nice normal life.
If you want adventure and high tempo, then the Navy is the place. I have visited over 20 countries. Loved it!!!
If you want to learn about leadership, multi-tasking and taking ownership, then the Navy is the playground.
The Air Force is Corporate....and that is great, but the Navy teaches you so much more than just your job. It teaches you about yourself, your limits, strengths, weaknesses and your future.
Again, they are both great, and do give the nod to the AF because they are closer to being civilian as being a civilian. The AF is 9-5! The Navy is 24/7.
Not a recruiter, just a former proud squid.

Air force... With the navy, you are usualy on a boat for long periods of time. In the Air Force, at least if something goes wrong, you can evacuate! Also, My brother just got back from Iraq, and he is in the Air Force and he only had to saty for 4 months!! i've know some people in the navy, and they stay longer.. about 9 months to a 1 year

Air Force has the best food and living conditions, least likely to get you killed on active duty. Good training that could translate to civilian life. Minus. Many duty stations in remote or uninterseting places. You should pre qualify for schools-Electronics, fire crew, air controller- before yousign up.
Navy. Training same as Air Force, bases older and a bit run down. Plus is they are Usually on a coast. Maybe half of the Navy never spend time on a ship, Many occupations are not needed there.
The military is an "expirence" that may not be for everyone.

I'm an army veteran, and based upon what I've seen, Air Force is definitely better than the Navy. But, do not join the Army or Marines unless you are a hardcore military nut. Of course, being a civilian is the best.

im in the air force and can tell you, we get treated better, but if you want to travel more and dont mind being on the ocean I would go navy. The reason I chose airforce over navy is because I'm married, and its a better lifestyle here, but if your single, and like I said want to travel, go navy. Good Luck

It depends on what kind of work you want to do. There are benefits and disadvantages to either choice. For example, the Air Force is a little less intense, and it allows you more freedom. But it is also a severely political organization and backstabbing is their official sport.
The navy, on the other hand, has unique traditions and may give you more travel opportunities, but they give you less personal freedoms.
It's up to you. Just remember that service in ANY branch of the military will be a sacrifice, regardless of the benefits!
Good luck in your future career!

It all depends on what you are looking for and what career fields you are interested in. The best thing for you to do is to talk to a recruiter from each branch and find out what options there are for you.
My husband is Air Force, and we love it. He's gotten excellent career experience and on the job training and awesome education benefits. I've also heard (and believe) that when it comes to families, the Air Force treats its troops the best.
But again, it all depends on what you are looking for. Each branch holds its own benefits for those who serve.

No man! Go to business; but if you have NO talent at all to become a simple sale person. And if you are so hopeless to find any job, even dish washing or cleaning a dirt washroom, which has more dignity that Arm Forces; than join to Air Force
I am, Major Keyvan Nourhaghighi, Senior Air Force Fighter Pilot, with over $100,000,000.00 taxpayers money expenses for my training in fighter jets; telling you clearly that you must stay AWAY from all kinds of "UNIFORM"
"All Arm Forces" in the eyes of the generation of Twenty First Century are "dogs" defending "Huge Corporations' Interests"
