I've been eyeing "Why We Fight," and I've realized...if the continued existence of our country, our government, our society depends on the constant engaging of imperialistic war...what happens when that engaging stops? What happens when our government desists from invading another country just for the hell of it, under false, patriotic or falsely patriotic pretenses?

Do the time and find out the real facts. 70 cents of every dollar paid in taxes goes toward welfare and social service in the U.S. Only the following thirty cents goes to infrastructure -- of that less than 7 percent goes to defense and the bulk of that goes to local police , firemen etc, far from a militaristic imperialistic society.. If your thoughts held true, at the zenith of our military advantage, after WW II , when we had the atom bomb and no one else did, when we were producing an average of a battleship a day, we would not have stopped at Germany and Japan but continued on easily to world domination.

We will have more funds to address the needs of our citizenry such as education, poverty and medical care. And we will have more funds to distribute humanitarian aid globally. Our scientists and engineers will be able to put their energies into humanitarian efforts of disease prevention and cure and mechanical inventions that improve the quality of life instead of laying waste to humanity. We can focus our energies and resources on projects that benefit, uplift and improve the quality of life. We as a country need to get our priorities straight. We watched "Why We Fight" a few weeks ago and "The Road to Guantanamo" last night and I feel strongly that we need to make some major changes in our morality, policies and endeavors.
