i brought a copy of limewire pro it says its not illegal so y do some people say it is?

NO...and YES...
Lime-wire is basically a file sharing medium. It is totally LEGAL to share un-licenced material on it. That said, it is ILLEGAL to download copyright music even if it is just for yourself.
If you remember when you bought it you would have had to tick a box stating you would not use it for illegal file sharing... that basically means you have agreed NOT TO download music by professional bands or software that isn't shareware or freeware.
That said, you would probably never have a problem unless you market it on to make money. If you use it for yourself and turn off the share part of it (Against the principal of Lime-wire I know) so you are not passing on illegal downloads then you will probably have nothing to fear... they can't even clamp down on illegal copy's being sold blatantly at car boots so the chances of you getting done for it are very remote....
The choice, as they say, is yours....

It is bad. This is because:
Limewire contains something called Ad ware. This means that Limewire holds all of your details like your name, address, telephone number and even bank details. Once you reach a limit of 900 files, Limewire will send a massive bill to your house. If this bill is not paid, Limewire will take it from your bank. You can't report this because it will be your own fault. This has happened to a friend of mine. To prevent this from happening, make a new folder and store all of your filed in that folder. If you store your files in the shared folder, Limewire will have a record of it. I want everyone to be aware of downloading music illegally. I use Limewire and i save all of my files in another folder.

limewire is illegal, but the thing is everyone uses it and the police do not do anything about it. limewire do not say it is illegal because they do not want you to think you will get into trouble for using there product.

It's legal to use limewire and share non-copyrighted files. most of what is shared and downloaded via limewire is illegal as it is copyrighted material.

LimeWire itself is not illegal at all. If you use it to download illegal things, then you are using it for illegal purposes.

well its illegal when u use some program files from limewire mainly crack versions of antivirus and key gens of antivirus and antispyware
