If you get a pos pregnancy test at home could it be wrong?

Probably not.

The way home pregnancy tests work is that they check for the presence of a pregnancy hormone (hcg). The hormone level starts out extremely low, but in the early stages of pregnancy, doubles every ~2 days.

That's why you could get a false negative if you took the test too early. You might not have enough of the hormone in your system to be detected by the test.

If the test finds the hormone, that means that you have plenty there...and that only happens when you're actually pregnant.

Nothing is perfect in this world... EPT (Early Pregnancy Tests) test wrong many times... Thats the reason why you get a 3 pack... Use EPT (namebrand)... They are pretty accurate... Also buy a 3 pack and use all 3...

I've been told false negative results exist but not false positives.

It can, but my suggestion would be to buy another one that is a different brand and try it. Or go to the doctor.

Most of them are very accurate but to make sure you should see your doctor
