There are three more things that I would do. Call your local animal controls, shelters, and human societies to see if your dog has been picked up by them. Call all of the veterinarians in your area, because people bring dogs they find to the vet, whether they are trying to find the owners or intend to keep it. Also, make sure that you tell your own vet that your dog is missing, because your vet should know your dog and be able to keep an eye out for him in case someone brings him in. Put an announcement in your neighborhood newsletter, or on a neighborhood bulletin board or web site, because its likely one of your neighbors that found it. Good Luck.

Hi, So sorry that you lost your dog. I know you must be frantic. I too lost my dog and he was gone a month when I finally got him back. I also put up flyers on poles everywhere and I offered a reward. I also put the flyers on bulletin boards in supermarkets and post offices. Everyday I went to all the animal shelters in my area and looked to see if he was there. I had just about given up when I got a phone call one evening. It was from a man that had seen my flyer in the supermarket. He had found my dog at a house construction site and he took him home. Later that evening he had gone to the market and he saw the flyer. So there is hope that you will find your dog. Continue to place flyers and hopefully someone will call you. Good Luck and again I am sorry.

Watch your area, as well as check local retailers (dog supply stores are a good start and vet office bulliten boards too) for any ads stating a dog was found.
Call your local shelter and report your dog missing.
Run an ad in the paper and one on Craigs List if you have one in your area.
Be sure to consider smaller weekly newspapers for lost ads as well as a daily local one.
Put posters up within a 5 mile radius of where your dog came up missing, as a dog can make it that far and this is a common distance they can go when lost.
Contact your vet to let them know your dog is lost.
I hope you find your dog soon.

Go to the dog pound and see if they've got your dog. Besides putting up flyers on lightpoles, ask the manager(s) to pin them up on notice boards in the supermarket/stores/fuel stations/bus depots and so on, where more people pause to look at flyers and advertisements. I hope you find him/her. Good luck!

Call a local radio station. I used to work at one and a few times when people would call in and tell the DJ their story about their lost dog the DJ would play the call on air or tell people the story himself asking for help to find the dog. Of course this depends on the station some are just money hungry and wont do a service like this also the D's mood and how you approach him will help decide if he/she will do this for you. Good luck finding your pup!

Make sure you put flyer's up in the pet stores too, someone who has found a new dog may need to buy supplies. Also check with all the animal shelters and animal control. Someone may have found him and taken him to a shelter. Good luck, I hope you find your pet.

It sounds like you are headed in the right direction. I would also go door to door. Does she/he have tags on so that the pound will call you when they find her?
What about driving around at night in the neighborhood calling his/her name, when there aren't many cars or noises, and he/she will hear you?
I'm so sorry, I really hope you find your dog!
p.s. microchipping is pretty cheap these days for when you get your dog back!

Flyers written in big letters, visible to drivers in cars.
Call local vets, humane societies, pet stores. Keep at it...it'll show up. Remember dogs can travel quite far, so expand your boundaries...
Microchip when you get him back.

put in a lost dog report with police, dog warden and the kennels they take the dogs to. give them a description of your dog breed, size, colour, age, whether your dog had a collar on or is chipped, and if it male or female. if your dogs chipped then the dog wardens will contact you. also leave you details with local vets. you could put an advert in your local paper to under the lost section. and lastly put your missing dog on "dog lost" on the internet.
