After the beginning of the church at the day of Pentecost, they started out by meeting daily (Acts 2:45-46).

Later you see them celebrating the Lord's supper and gathering on the first day of the week (Acts 20:7).

Reference is also made to gathering money for those in need on the first day of the week (1 Cor 16:3)

The day really doesn't matter anyway. (Rom 14:5) but Paul explains that for those who are weak in faith, it may be a big deal.

The Sabbath is Saturday, not Sunday. Sunday is not a replacement of the Sabbath day. It is the day that Christians met. Sabbath keeping is part of the Jewish Law just like not wearing clothing made of two different types of fabric was prohibited. The Jerusalem council in Acts dealt with the fact that Christians don't have to keep the law, be circumcised, etc.

Freedom from Sabbath-keeping

Some today insist that Christians must keep the Sabbath day, that those who worship on the first day of the week (Sunday) are in great error. They reason that "Sun-day" comes from the pagan worship of the Sun god, that Jesus and Paul kept the Sabbath day as an example for us to follow, and that the Roman Catholic church is responsible for the change in the day of worship. Those who continue to worship on Sunday will receive the mark of the beast.

There isn’t even one command in the New Testament for Christians to keep the Sabbath holy. In fact, we are told not to let others judge us regarding Sabbaths (Colossian 2:16), and that man was not made for the Sabbath, but the Sabbath for man (Mark 2:27). The Sabbath was given as a sign to Israel (Exodus 31:13–17); nowhere is it given as a sign to the Church. Thousands of years after the Commandment was given we can still see the sign that separates Israel from the world—they continue to keep the Sabbath holy.

Romans 14:5–10 tells us that one man esteems one day of the week above another; another esteems every day alike. Then Scripture tells us that everyone should be fully persuaded in his own mind. We are not to judge each other regarding the day on which we worship.

True Christians recognize the fact, that Jesus died for our sins, and right before he was killed that was the big contraversy that he healed somebody on the Sabbath. He told the people he was not here to abolish the laws, however the lesson is keeping the Sabbath is not going to save you. Being washed in the blood of Christ is going to save you. You CANNOT be saved by good works(or following the law) Christ died to free us from thse laws, God saw that peoples intentions were wrong, they followed the laws but lost all meaning of the Spirit. The Sabbath is a day you set aside to worship God exclusivley on that day. How many people use the excuse to keep the Sabbath and lay around all day and do nothing? It is a day to dedicate to the Lord our God, whatever day that may be.

The sabbath day is still Saturday. Sunday is "the Lord's Day". Anyone who tells you different doesn't know the first thing about the Bible. The sabbath is the seventh day.

The Sabbath day was changed to Sunday because it was accepted by the Church that Christ rose again on a Sunday. (the equal then to our Sunday now)

I guess that all depends on your beliefs. In the Catholic religion. This has not changed. God created in 6 days and on the sabbath day rested.

Hi Mark . The church changed it in the 2nd century to try and demonstrate that Christianity had gone "beyond" the old testement rules. Of course , we UB readers know that both are BS.
