No. Just because someone was raised with the moral teachings of Christianity doesn't mean they are Christian. Being a Christian means being born again, a choice one has to make to be.

What you choose to believe is not a genetic trait.
Being baptized into a religion does not mean that you believe in it (speaking of infant baptisms)
A religion is a system of beliefs. That can change.
I was raised in a Christian home, and I believed in it, but I never really embraced it as my own until I was 25. A child just believes whatever its parents teach it. A thinking adult can reason and decide for themselves based more on evidence and personal experience.

NO NO NO NO NOOOOOOOOO being raised on has nothing to do with being one when it comes to life choices. you can be raised your ethnic heritage and can't change that -- however you can be raised Catholic and switch to MEthodist or vice versa.

this was a sticking point for me during the political campaing.... i don't care if you were an altar boy.... to be a practiccing Catholic today you can NOT vote for partial birth abortion. (that's just a blatant example)

I was raised Catholic. i stepped away for a while - thankfully God didn't step away from me. I came back to my faith and now work very hard at learning, studying and maintaining my relationship with Christ.

No. Being raised as a catholic means that my parents had me baptised and raised in the catholic religion. I have grown up now and decided not to continue with the catholic religion. I am not a catholic and I am not being a catholic right now.

not the same... people can be raised so many different ways, but you are the single person who can decide what you are. being catholic is so much more than saying it, u have to practice it, u have to go to church pray and put faith in the lord. you can be raised one, but still not believe it, nor practice, but u can also be raised and have a better understand and beief

Well, since I was RAISED a United Methodist and I AM Wiccan, I don't think "raised as" is the same as "being" at all. When it came down to brass tacks, everything that had to do with what I was "raised as" had nothing to do with my actual "being".

My mother was raised as a southern baptist, but married my father who was Lutheran.... so she became Lutheran. Now she only occasionally goes to church at a Presbyterian church... so people's beliefs can change over time.

I was raised Lutheran, but am now Buddhist.

lol No, not at all. If you're raised one, you think you believe only because you are doing as you are told. If you are BEING one, then you actually believe with your heart.
