Done it. It's just time consuming filling out the forms trying to remember stupid stuff like when you met her dad, etc. Really stupid bureaucratic nonsensical questions. Also, if you have half a brain, you do not need to hire a lawyer to do this. It's not all that difficult to fill out.

Main thing is the police background check in her country and the medical checkup are a pain. Also, the marriage certificate, if in another language you need the translation notarized (you can get that done easily and cheaper at the Cdn Embassy or Consulate in her country).

Once you got all the paperwork done expect it to take 6 months to a year. We had our act together, got it all done and received the visa in 4 months. Hate to say this but many people are idiots who have no clue which is why it takes them longer or they don't get the visa.

.I think the first answerer has given you much information enough but the website still helps

Her husband needs to make time for this to complete the documents she needed if not he will end up hiring a Immigration lawyer. it's lot of paper work and updates as well as digging up both history at the past..
Depends on how fast the completion and application done.. the time would be more short if there is not much documents needed to be updated.Ignorance is not acceptable while doing this paperwork because they have all instructions and support while doing this paperwork.. It is just frustrating when things don't work well but don't get dissappointed..it is just a part of it. The problem why it took longer sometimes is that there are lots of applicants at the time you have sent the application and that makes more time consuming.. Make sure they have all copies of their documents as documents gets lost on its way sometimes..and need to send another one.. Reviews all instructions before sending the documents to avoid sending incomplete forms.

good day!

My daughter married a Canadian. If she is a U.S. citizen, she should be able to go to Canada as a visitor without a problem. I have a friend whose wife is in Canada and visits her often.

Then she needs to file for permanent residency status. A Canadian attorney can help with this, or you can do it yourself. Once given temporary residency, it can take time for it to be permanent.

Canada is pretty friendly with U.S. citizens. She should visit and apply for residency.

Best Wishes,
Sue

that is precisely what you want to do: - Get somewhat of paper and a pen - Write "Take Me back To Mexico" on the paper (In English, so as that he gained't understand what it says) - Drop him off on the nearest INS construction retaining the signal.
