Aren't we created in His image and given free choice? Shouldn't we be looking inward and solving our own problems? How about preventive care so we don't get stuck in the first place? Are humans that incapable?

I may have answered this question for myself. I'm asking others to answer for themselves. It's called accountability.

Unfortunately, yes, humans are that incapable...

Truly, the reasons why people who are "in trouble" turn to God is for the obvious reason - it allows them to pass the blame buck onto someone or something else. Look at prisoners - rather than admit that they were criminals and lazy and made poor choices, it is easier for them to accept God, blame their actions on a devil and his temptations, and have to work less in psychiatric settings, and will be more likely to be paroled.....all for beleiving in God.

Thats why 75% of the prison population is Christian, while only 0.2% is atheist.

Yes humans are that incapable, that's why their in trouble. As we look to God,He helps us see things more clearly. That's why we call Him Father.Would you ask this question to a bunch of children ?Why do you kids always run to your parents when you get in trouble? That make sense to you ?I hope so.Also Adam was created in the Image of God being perfect and without sin. After sin entered he was separated from God being driven from the garden.Gen.5:3 tells us that Adam had a son born in his likeness, after his image, his name was Seth.We are no longer born in the image of God,but born in the likeness and image of sinful Adam. When we are ( born again )that is when we recieve the Spirit of God in us and are in His Image once again.God breathed into Adam and he became a living soul, sin prevailed and Adam died spiritually.Gen. 2:7.Jesus breathed on His Apostles just as God breathed into Adam, and said,"Recieve you the Holy Ghost,John 20:22.Being born again, and being faithful to our Fathers call will provide us with preventative care. But if we fail, call out to Him,for He cares so much for us all.

Compared to God, yes people are that incapable. We call out to God because He is all powerful, and He can help us get through whatever it is that is troubling us. Because we call out to God, does not mean we are sitting here like imbeciles, not going to the doctor, etc...it means that we trust in Him, and ask Him for guidance.

Yes I am that incapable. Sure I can take preventative measures, but ultimately, God looks out for me because He is my father.

I am sorry we are not made in Gods image. God has no outline or Color. He is the most brilliant light you will ever see yet you can see Him. God is within us there fore the best help is from within so we look to God in times of trouble
