I'm against abortion personally, but I don't brand people who do it a murderer! You are right contraception should always be used if pregnancy is not wanted but that is in an ideal world. Sometimes contraception fails or sometimes women are sexually assaulted and it results in pregnancy or the baby can have major defects. There is no clean cut answer to this but I personally believe abortion should always be an option. It is a very sad situation and I'm just glad I know in my heart I will never go through it.

A close friend of mine was once presented with an awful situation.
His wife became pregnant and found out that if she gave birth either by ceserian or by the usual method she and the baby would die.
He was in a loose loose situation - either lose his wife who he had been married to for 7 years and loved all his life or loose both of them.
They went down the root of termination and suffered all the bigotry and stigma that is attached to it - so much so his wife was assaulted when she came out of the clinic by a group of human rights activists.
She spent a further 3 weeks in hospital suffering from a broken pelvis as a result of some narrow minded 21 year old girl who has absolutely zero experience of the "real world" pushing her over and stumbling into the path of an oncoming taxi.
Make your own mind up - there are a million other reasons that people have terminations other than post coital contraception !
You need to think a bit harder of all the other possibilities before marking these people as murderers !

Personally I think that this is one of those questions that will never have a right or wrong answer. It is down to the individual on how they feel. In some cases Yes it could be classed as people murdering children but we have to remember people don't just opt for a abortion because they don't want a baby. I am 26weeks pregnant and I am having test done and have been since I was 20 weeks, I have a umbilical cyst, they say nothing is wrong with my baby but it could develop chromosomal problems, this would mean after giving birth my baby could die within minutes or days, not weeks or months and would be sick from the moment I deliver. Would I be classed as a murderer for aborting the baby or for giving birth and watching my baby die, knowing that nothing could be done for her??!!!

By the Catholic church they are. I think the Catholic church has a lot to answer for (AIDS in Africa for example).
I think that every individual case should be assessed because people are all different. If you were raped at age 14 would you be expected to go through with the pregnancy, miss school and ruin your life?
If you are old enough to be having sex then you're old enough to consider the consequences and use contraception. I think free thinking adults who get pregnant and want an abortion because it's inconvenient do bother me though.

Not in the U.S.- abortion is legal. Everyone has mixed opinions on this. I was raped, and told them not to give me the morning after pill- I would not abort my baby just because I was raped. Also, after being on the pill 5 yrs, I got preggo. My husband and I were pretty shocked! But now we have a wonderful baby boy, and I couldn't imagine my life without him! So in my case, i would never abort a baby no matter what... but that's me. Others have different opinions and feel it is okay- I don't always agree, but I can't hate anyone who does have an abortion. several of my friends have had one, and although I never agreed with them doing it, I let them know how I felt, but also that I wouldn't hate them, that i would be there for them... because they had a very hard time going through with it. So I don't think everyone jumps for joy when they have an abortion.

Legally, no. However, most people who have abortions forget it is a major medical procedure and should be used for a medical reason. Anyone who is on contraception knows it is not foolproof, and if you are not ready for pregnancy, the only way to avoid that is not to have sex.
Pregnancy begins at fertilization, thus even if the "fetus" is not viable outside the womb, it is a living being that is being "disposed". Abortion should be used when there is a medical reason for it, not as a backup method of birth control.

The decision to abort a baby is a very difficult one and I do not believe that ANYONE has the right to judge another who believes this is the best option for them.
Legally, it is ok, although others may argue on a moral ground.
Contraception is not 100% fail safe..the only 100% reliable measure is to say no.
But since we have evolved on that intercourse is not only for procreation but also for pleasure...justly, I don't think there are many who would argue that each and everyone is entitled to a happy and enjoyable sex life....

no. it is a womans right to choose and as long as abortion remains a legal procedure in the UK anyone who has one is not a murderer and should not be judged. Anyone who has had one had their own personal reasons for doing so and I would imagine most of them feel guilty enough without being called murderers.

depends on personal oppinion. to me, it is unacceptable to have an abortion purely for selfish reasons, eg, its not the right time, or it was a mistake, etc...that is what contraception is for. however i can understand why someone might have an abortion if, for example they were raped. however in any situation, i would never have an abortion. if for some reason i couldnt keep it, i would give birth and put him/her up for adoption. i dont feel i have the right to take a human life. thats just how i feel tho, and other people feel differently. speaking as someone who longs for a baby but is infertile, i cannot understand the mentality behind it, when there are so many women out there wanting but unable to have kids, and others churning them out and aborting them. id never call them murderers tho, just a little selfish maybe.

I THINK IT DEPENDS ON THERE SITUATION I MYSELF WOULDNT HAVE AN ABORTION UNLESS I WAS RAPED OR THE BABY WAS SEVERLEY DISABLED OR ILL . I HAD A FRIEND WHO HAD 3 ABORTIONS JUST BECAUSE THEY DIDNT BOTHER USIN PROTECTION ABORTION IS USED 2 OFTEN AS A FORM OF CONTRACEPTION AND I THINK THATS WHY A LOT OF PEOPLE DNT AGREE WITH IT
