Is it possible for an American to get a British work visa?

Im an American student from Boston currently working at a major company in the UK. I am going back to the states to graduate but i want to come back here and work/live for a while. Is it possible to get a regular visa, and how would I go about doing that?

You can get a work visa there but the amount of time they allow you to stay depends on your job..They only let me stay a year (can't take away good jobs from us Brits) .
