christians answer me this....why is that christians who say they accept the bible as gods word, and live by it, believe in ghosts, and believe that they can talk to their dead loved ones when that is totally contradicting what the bible really says. i mean the bible warns you of spirit mediums and the dead, and in ecciesiastes 9:5,6 the bible states, for the living know that they will die:but the dead know not anything, neither have they anymore a reward, for the memory of them is forgotten.....also their love and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished, neither have they anymore a portion for ever anything that is done under the sun.so then again i ask, why is it that most christians believe in ghosts??????

My loved ones who have passed on are not ghosts. Neither are they dead. Jesus said those who follow Him will never die. My loved ones are saints, not ghosts. Ghosts don't exist. Since my loved ones are alive and well, is there any reason why I shouldn't talk to them? Or to other Christians who have passed on, including the great saints of the Church? The dead who "know nothing" according to the Bible are the spiritually dead, the lost, the damned. Those who are spiritually alive remain part of the "communion of saints", which is one of core Christian beliefs listed in the Apostles' Creed. "Communion" means interaction.

One of a few reasons.
1) They don't actually read the bible. It's just collecting dust on a coffee table or shelf. They may or may not pick it up once a week to take it to church, and then they put it back afterwards.
2) They read it but don't take it seriously. They're more concerned with what the world has to say about things, and are more apt to adopt secular beliefs on things than to see what God's word has to say. Isreal had a similar problem with adapting the religions and beliefs and superstitions of the locals, rather than following God's command not to.
3) They're deceived by the devil. The devil is constantly looking for ways to decieve or distract us. Someone's grandfather died and they believe in ghosts? What's stopping Satan or one of his demons from fulfilling that little fantasy for them?

Ghosts are real. When people die through suicide, accident or any unnatural way they go to the spirit world for 500 years. I am not concerned what the bible says. I have personal experience in this subject matter and i am telling how it is. Good people never do any harm, but bad spirits e posses humans and can trouble you. Let us say if the house is haunted so on and so forth

Actually the Bible does accredit their existance. But the raising of the dead and confering with them instead of trusting in God´s word is evil in His eyes. The dead can´t hurt us nor can they help us. It just says that they aren´t supposed to be in this world and can never return except through God.

They believe in the forces of nature not Ghost. And they believe because they do exist. And don't tell me that there is no proff that they do exist cause i will tell you that you pray to a God that you are not sure exist either but you still pray. I believe in the Creative Force and in forces of nature.
Think outside the bible for once and see where it leads you.

Because, we believe in spirits. Their are good spirits and bad ones. Its not a ghost, only the holy ghost, which is the lord speaking to us.and through us.

Why do you assume that most Christians believe in ghosts. I am one who doesn't. In Job we are told that when a man dies he does not return to his house. Why? Because he's dead.

It is not wrong to think fondly of your loved ones after they have passed on. You just don't evoke their name to find out things in the future or past like mediums are purported to do.

Because they pick and choose. Fornicate blah blah blah. Do they even follow what their bible says? No. Jesus died for their sins so they can do whatever they wnat, i mean c'mon, they guarnteed heaven. They dont take responsibilty of their own actions.
