Christianity is a monotheistic[1] religion centered on Jesus of Nazareth, and on his life and teachings as presented in the New Testament.[2] Christians believe Jesus to be the Messiah and thus refer to him as Jesus Christ. With an estimated 2.1 billion adherents in 2001, Christianity is the world's largest religion.[3] It is the predominant religion in the Americas, Europe, Philippine Islands, Oceania, and large parts of Africa. It is also growing rapidly in Asia, particularly in China and South Korea. It has also increased in popularity in Northern Africa.[4]
Christianity began in the 1st century as a Jewish sect,[5] and shares many religious texts with Judaism, specifically the Hebrew Bible, known to Christians as the Old Testament (see Judeo-Christian). Like Judaism and Islam, Christianity is classified as an Abrahamic religion because of the centrality of Abraham in their shared traditions.
The name "Christian" (Greek Χριστιανός Strong's G5546) was first applied to the disciples in Antioch, as recorded in Acts 11:26.[6] The earliest recorded use of the term Christianity (Greek Χριστιανισμός) is by Ignatius of Antioch.[7]

Jesus was a jew, but he wanted the people to go back to worshipping God the correct way. He taught some people how to do that. After he died, those who knew him personally, including Paul who encountered him in a vision, continued to teach people how to worship God.
However, when those who personally knew Jesus died, the congregations began to be filled with people who did not want ot worship God correctly. These one began to take over positions of secular authority, create a separation between clergy and laity, teach old unscriptural doctrines like the Trinity, immortality of the human soul and hellfire.
This does not stop God from setting things straight. A time has to come when God will do that. Before that time actually comes, a group of true Christians began to study the scriptures independant from seminars where religious leaders of various kinds learn how to teach their faith.
These true Christians taught the truth about God, even though it lead to them being persecuted. Jesus said they would be hated, becuase he was hated. However, they are genuine Bible students and can help anyone who is humbly looking for Bible truth. They are known as Jehovah's Witnesses.
Unlike many Christian faiths, they do not believe in a confusing Trinity, imortality of the human soul or hellfire. they are also persecuted for their beliefs. They have been arrested and imprisoned for their beliefs in times of crisis. They were amongst the first to be sent to the earliest nazi concentration camps. they were regularly persecuted by Stalin, being deprted to the Gulags or even Siberia.
They believe in a better future for mankind, a paradise on the Earth where all can live forever in peace and security.

Christianity is a word coined from the word " christian ", a term used by the people of ancient Antioch to describe the believers-those who believed in God's son- Jesus the Christ.
it is not a religion as people are quick to declare but it is a way of life. it is a life of love and reverence towards God, gratitude for the ultimate sacrifice of His Son, Jesus, obedience to God's word and love to all who live around us. However, christianity has a core, and that is the Holy Spirit, because He is the believer's assurance of total redemption and victory.

a million. there is really one God. that's a triune God, of pop, son and Holy Spirit. The son is accepted as Jesus the Christ or Messiah. 2. Jesus lived and died in our position to eliminate our sins perpetually. 3. those who have self assurance and follow him with stay perpetually with him, in a paradise said as heaven. 4. there is no opposite direction to everlasting salvation except through Christ. 5. those who extremely follow Christ in love are his authentic followers or Christians. Conversely, those who do not completely follow Christ, or only say they do without doing it, are pretend Christians and not in any respect Christians in any respect. 6. Jesus informed all his followers to bypass and make disciples, Baptize them and coach all of them His teachings.

To follow what Banshee said - Christians do not believe babies go to hell if they are not baptised. True, we are all born in sin and need Jesus but babies (and any handicapped who are not capable of making a choice to follow Jesus or not) are under grace - Gods love and favour - and go to Heaven.

What kind of facts?
Christians belive that Jesus Christ is their savior and God, the Risen son of Man. We belive in the eternal god ruling heaven, and that someday he will come back for us, and we will be judged when that time comes.
