Is it ok? Not ok? And what about for girls? Female masturbation is not mentioned in the Bible, but I don't know about other texts...

Best wishes to all of you, whatever religion x

This is purely for my curiosity btw, I'm not part of an organized religion, but I am interested to know what everyone thinks!

Not o.k. defiles your human body home to the Holy Spirit. A selfish act outside the context of marital practise of total self giving in love to one another. A sin against purity- the 6th commandment. In choosing so entails a disorder of the will for the exchange of love for God to the love of oneself. The finality of the act does not entail procreation. In the Bible the word man or men means all human beings.

The act itself is a selfish act, so in that sense it could be considered contrary to multiple religions, e.g. Christianity or Buddhism. Masterbation is also an addictive behavior, often bundled with pornography. There have been many relationships destroyed because one spouse was addicted to pornography, would masterbate, and thereby have their interest in the spouse decrease. Although I don't necessarily think it's a bad think per se, it can become a habit and can cause problems (I've seen it).

I think it is an admiral goal for everyone to become free of the self, or released from the chains of the world. It is only then do we really have a full range of choice.

faith has no longer something to do with it. Sane and rational people regard masturbation as organic and wide-spread, with some well being advantages, which includes holding prostate well being, and relieving sexual stress. some religious persons regard it as a sin, which makes them appreciate it much extra.

The mere fact that female masturbation isn't mentioned tells you that the book is open to interpretation and you probably should ask the wind.....the wind tells me to go ahead ;-)

Regardless of what religions say, let me tell you doctors say it's very good for your mental health. Religions will say it's not good, but who are you going to pay attention to?
