I got this recipe from a friend of mine but I really don't dig horseradish and my husband has a bad tummy so was wondering what ingredient can I replace the horseradish with.

Hot Crab Dip

Preheat oven to 325 F. Butter a 2-cup ovenproof small baking pan!

Puree in a food processor all 6 items until smooth:
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
¼ cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoons minced onion
1 teaspoon drained horseradish
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
¼ teaspoon salt
Scrape into a bowl puree mix.

Then fold in :
One 6-ounce can of crabmeat, drained

Pour into buttered baking pan.

If desired, sprinkle on top with:
Slivered almonds

Bake until heated through, about 25 minutes.

Serve with:
CRACKERS

It's ok to just leave it out. It's really just for a little kick. If you really want a undertone flavor, try prepared stone ground mustard.

Sounds to me like you could just forego the horseradish, especially if the reason you want to omit it is for tummy troubles, as whatever you try to replace it with should be something with equal kick.

If you are weary of horseradish, try fresh grated, it has the flavor but the tang is totally different.

I love horseradish, but if I had to, I would replace it with roasted minced garlic...though that may cause tummy troubles too.

I agree with the others. Just omit the horseradish. The recipe will come out just fine without it.

Looking at the amounts of the other ingrediants, the horseradish would be very diluted. It would probably just give it more flavor than heat.

Try a little chili powder. Or you could try wasabi powder if you want something closer to horseradish, but not quite the same taste (wasabi is the stuff they use in Chinese hot mustard).

This is an excellent recipe, I use it for all kinds of parties, etc. It's sure to be a hit. It would be fine to leave it out altogether, or if it is too dry replace it with extra mayo. I bet it would turn out fine without it though.

I think that you could just omit the horseradish. If you like you could replace it with a clove of garlic

Put in some prepared mustard: a teaspoon if it's mild, less if it has more bite.

You can just leave it out all together. The recipe will still be tasty.
