A friend has asked me to go with him to his Air Force companys Christmas Party. He told me it wasn't formal, so what do I wear? suggestions?? He has to wear his uniform also.

Don't let the fact that it's being hosted by the Air Force scare you...chances are the other "dates" there will dress just as they would for any other semi-formal party. Just dress nice and comfortably. He'll be in his blues, so he will look nice, I would dress accordingly. A nice simple dress would be fine, as would a dressy top and nice pants. I wouldn't recommend trashing it up, but that's just me. I've seen young women go to these events in little outfits and no one said anything. It all just comes down to your personal tastes.

he said it's not formal, but it's a good idea to dress up a little formal just because he'll be in uniform, as has been said, black is a good formal color, so is a darker blue if you don't want something colorless

I agree with Gracie M, nothing beats the black outfit, specially a little black dress.

If your date is required to wear his uniform, please choose something that will compliment his wear. Also, don't wear something that will make you or him a "target" of idle gossip.

how about a nice sweater and slacks with dressy boots or a dressy top .nothing scanky. he has a rep to protect
