It drives my husband crazy! Quite annoying it is! But I really cant help it! It feels like something is stuck there. Its been like this over the past year or so, but the past two weeks I feel like I have a sore throat, but down a bit farther. Its hard to explain but its making me nervous! I hope its not cancer. Could it be??!!?!? Thanks to everyone who responds!

Sounds like an allergy to something, go see your doctor!

Hi there !
Dont worry !
It occurs out of "habituation" !
It can be avoided / prevented IF you take a little bit of effort in this !
Try this also :
1. Try to drink some "luke warm" or
"warm water" after food and whenever
you feel the urge to do this "clearing" act !
2. Also if any associated problems like frequent
"sore throat" or "hoarseness of voice" is
present , get an expert opinion from an ENT
surgeon !
Best wishes !

Before you panic, find out if it's an allergic reaction. Constantly clearing ones' throat is, often, a sign of just that.

Next, see your doctor - getting a diagnosis from Yahoos' Q&A isn't going to cut it. You might be suffering from acid reflux, and that CAN turn into a cancerous condition if not treated.

Good luck....

Sounds like you could have GERD--also know as acid reflux. It affects your esophagus. See a doctor to make sure. There is medication available.
