How to copy a DVD?

I have a DVD a friend gave me of a bunch of random stuff on video put on to DVD. I want to copy this to my PC but get a message saying "wrong file path" or something like that. Can anyone tell me how to copy this to my hard drive.

There are various ways to "backup" a dvd. I would suggest you read through the DVD backup guides over @ Doom9.org

try extracting the dvd using any image extractors
