I have a blister on my thumb in the bend of it next to the palm of my hand it is about a nickel in dia. I received it bowling in a tourney I am not sure when it formed but I didn't notice it until the end of the 9th game. It was already popped and the skin was just a flap. I wrapped it with tape once i noticed it then put a bandaid on it when i got home. Only now it is sore, it is just raw now. What should I put on it? thank you

put some antibiotic cream (neosporin) on it and a loose bandaid to prevent infection. It should heal quickly.

Leave the area in the open air to heal. You can use first aid cream to help in the healing and the pain. Do not cover up the area. If it get more nred and begins to hurt, you may have an infection going and might need antibiotics. If not first aid cream or an antibiotic cream will do just fine.

keep it clean and dry
do not cover it leave it exposed to air
it will heal quicker
you can apply a minimal amount of antibiotic ointment like bacitracin
applying a band aid will only cause moisture to the site requiring a longer healing time and when it gets wet the moisture provides a medium for bacteria to grow

Get a product called New-Skin. Available in drug stores. It will protect and sanitize it and allow it to heal without too much pain. You may have to re-apply a few times a day, but it beats unsightly, soggy bandaids and adhesive residue on your hands. it was recommended to me by a nurse.

Make sure you cleaned it well with soap and warm water. Apply some type of OTC topical antibiotic, while keeping the flap intact and apply a ban-aid.

you have a lot of good answers. Make your choice, the Antibiotic cream sound good, and if it gets tight while healing use Vaseline. Open air, at first is best, for fast healing ,later you can use a glove to protect the new skin. You are welcome, speedy recovery.

Put Neosporin, or even Vaseline on the gauze part of a band aid so the raw part of your skin doesn't stick to it.

Buy some antibiotic oinment but don't keep it too moist or it will not heal just put a thin layer and then dab with a tissue.

Nothing just let the air get to it so it begins to heel!
