There are straighteners for that. Just like a perm but you comb your straight. I just got one and I love it.

Try this. Get a serum called Kerastase Nutritive Serum. This relaxes your hair and can be applied to your hair wet or dry. Then use a Chi ceramic straightener and keep ironing your hair til it grows. If you cannot stand the permed hair, go to a drugstore and look into African-American hair relaxers. Look for a gentle one that has no lye and it contains olive oil. Follow the instructions and you should be able to get good results. Whatever you do however, try using that Kerastase serum because it does a great job in conditioning your hair.

I had a perm that I loved, but when it was starting to grow out, I hated it. This is what I did to straighten it, it took awhile to do, but its worth it.
Don't ever use a brush! Use a pick or a comb to comb it after you get out of the shower. Then, put your hairdryer on a low setting, and use the pick/comb to comb through it as your drying it. Do one section at a time. After your hair is dry, take a ceramic hair straightener and go through it, one small section at a time. After that process is complete, I would go over my hair again with the dryer, but push in that button labeled "cool." It will get any extra moisture out and will not make your hair frizzy.
It also helps if you use a great shampoo/conditioner made to help straighten/defrizz hair!

well, the best straightening perm that I've ever get is from a korean salon. (well, obviously since I'm korean)
but i'm telling you that koreans PERFECTED the art of straight perms because they have this obsession with having straight hair and stuff.
go to k-town and walk into any korean salons. i don't know the name of the salon that I go too but yeah.
their perms can fix any kind of hair.. my hair is thick and kind of wavy at the top and they fix it every time i go there, plus you only have to go in once every 6 months to touch up the roots!
hope this helps
