"Native" Americans (Indians) are everywhere. They don't all live on reservations. They mix and mingle with other 'native' Americans. They aren't all poor either. So get off the pity train. My family is of Native American descent and we don't consider ourselves 'poor'. We have average to above average incomes, own our own homes and have college degrees (we have attorneys,doctors and business owners in our immediate family). Open your eyes, we're everwhere.
If you are talking about Americans who are 'native', meaning born here, not immigrants. We are everywhere, too. Are you blind?

I wouldn't call them poor brave people. I would call them brave people. Yes, there are many here in oklahoma...and they are far from being poor. They run and own the casinos here...

Yep, Oklahoma and other 'reservations'. There are still about 300 different Native American nations in the USA, most being small and many faced with their presence completely disappearing ( thank you government of the USA and the BIA ). The United Nations and others all always talking about saving 'aboriginal', native species in far away places, but you never hear them say ANYTHING about those disappearing right under their noses - in New York and the east coast states, or anywhere else in the USA for that matter. They just assume the US government will do it.

Isn't it great the way the white Americans can totally ignore their history of genocide and breach of contract.
After their cultures and way of life having been totally destroyed they are put down as drunkards and nouveaux riches.
If you want a real insight in their lives today I recommend the books of Louise Erdreich, a novellist with Native American background.

Despite what some stupid people think, they don't all drink. That being said, they are all over, different reservations and some off of the reservations.
