I am a college student with very limited funds and I want to know where I can find nice inexpensive items for my house. I live on the eastside of Detroit. I also need furniture: couches, lamps, and a bedroom set.

For the couches and bedroom furniture ,I would honestly check a buy and sell type paper. Sometimes they have very nice things. Or go online and search in your area for furniture close out sales (there are always a few of those.) I am from Toronto, so I dont really know any stores to tell you, hope that helps....

how about the salvation army or maybe some other second hand store.
You could find an old couch but maybe buy a new slip cover for it, plus vintage stuff from the salvation army can be very chic!

eBay, www.overstock.com, www.homedecoratorscollection.com, flea markets, Salvation Army Thrift Store, Goodwill Industries, garage sales.

LOTS of places! Also, don't hesitate to buy cheap, and move up in quality as your finances allow.

For decorations try the dollar store, for everything else try some thrift stores.
