My family is annoying. Every time I try to say something or try to make a compromise with a family member, they always manage to make me guilty by turning things around to suit their needs instead of compromising. So is your family annoying as much as mine?

mine - worst than annoying.....wordless most of the time to comprehend but unfortunately there is nothing much to change it. like it or not they are still call my family. the only way to be better in life is to learn from their mistakes, not making the same mistakes that they have done/ are doing in order to make my life a better one to live. no need to dwell along with it and waste our time cause time will continue to fly and we only have once to live, so live the best of it and no point to regret at the same time cause we have no choice, we can't change family.

Well, if I had a family I would know. My boyfriend and I are orphaned. We met in a group therapy session on feeling abandoned and both really connected when we both found out that we're orphans from the same orphanage! It was REALLY weird... but we are now our own family... with a new family member on the way. We're together, and let's not home we'd turn out to be an annoying, guilt ridden family! I know we aren't a family YET, but it's sorta warming up to be that we're becoming one in a few months. I hope things turn out alright for you. Just remind them that you're a member of this family too and you hope they understand where you stand in this family. It'll work out, don't worry. :-)

how unloving of a question is this?! You should love your family, and be blind to their mistakes... everyone has a quirk that will get on someone elses nerves, but its not charitable to tell everyone about it... especially not your family... we are a week and a half away from thanksgiving, hmmm looks like you need to relook at your "situation" and be thankful you have a family.. many do not... think of this quote every time you get a bit annoyed: "you never know what you've got, until you lose it" would you rather be without your family... or have them, with all their fun and interesting quirks, that might get to you now, but you'd miss if they were gone?!

I have 5 sisters and 3 brothers, I could tell you all about their faults, but that wouldn't be loving of me to do... and you know what, I bet I have all the same annoying qualities, life is so much more enjoyable when you are crazy/weird, but love being that way.. accept your family for who they are now, and who they will al become... :)

Not very... From what u described, the best thing (in my opinion) is to stop trying to make compromises. if they don't respect that u should show them how it is when u do exactly what they do - refuse to cooperate. That should change their attitude

My SIL (brothers wife) has an ongoing paranoia about everything we do. She thinks it is directed at hurting her even when we go out of our way to be nice. Then she doesn't show for my dad's funeral and brother says that we have to be extra nice to her or my mom won't get to see her grandson.
