I know this is a very cheap price, but I also know there are lots of high mileage vehicles out there that still have a lot of miles left in them. I just want to know some pointers as I have never bought a car or truck this cheap.

If you are going to pay CASH for a vehicle from a dealer, remember this:

There is markup built in to all vehicle sales. Don't go in looking for cars between $3-5k . Go into dealerships looking for cars between $5-7k. Let the sales person show you all the stuff, and take it for a test drive....Understand that it will probably have some "stuff" that should be attended to. For example, the paint might have some scratches that need buffing, the carpet should have been shampood, but might have some stains, etc.

Point out this stuff, and then make an offer $2,500 less than what they are asking. At this point, assure them that you have no trade and you will be paying cash RIGHT NOW.

IF they don't take it, thats fine too, make them counter offer you.

(Remember that before the deal is done, you will need to pay sales tax, title, registration fees. Keep that figured in to your 'grand total')
