Its unfortunate that noncombatants are killed during wars. But some countries target civilians, adult and children, intentionally. Besides the Russian-made PFM-1, "toy-mine", Does anyone know of anything other mines designed to kill children.

check out the Russian-made PFM-1, we have found them in Afghanistan. They are in Chechnya also according to reports. They are air dropped. The wings keep them from being damaged when they hit the ground. Most are painted like toys. When a child picks them up and try to fly them they don't fly well. When you try and adjust the wings they explode. In Chechnya alone over 150 children have been injuried or killed by them.

Wow, the Russians made toy mines? I didn't know that they had a mine special for children. I thought that mines are used to kill everyone- men, women, children etc.

I don't know about "toy mines" but many countries have used children as decoys and such.... strapping bombs to them... they held up schools and executed children to get their point across to governments.. there's been millions of ways that killing children are used in wars

lol here we go again, land mines only kill individuals even children, but napalm, phospherous and cluster bombs dropped in civillian areas kill thousands like in iraq and recently in lebanon used by the isreali's.if u add up the total civillians killed by the u.s in its history, korea, vietnam not including japan nagasaki or hiroshima, even hitler did'nt manage to kill that many.ohh just to let you know the use of cluster bombs has been changed by the u.n ,it came into affect on sunday. any country who uses cluster bombs has to clean the unexploded munitons up after the war is over. i 'm sure the u.s and it's ally isreal will not be too pleased about that.
