Could be a silly question but....... I have this really bushy low lying tree and there have been hundreds of tiny birds just making all sorts of noise for days. I live in virginia and its november, so obviously not mating season. The tree doesnt have seeds or anything...... maybe its winter coming or something? Im sure an orthinologist could answer it in a heartbeat.

They may just be resting before traveling. But I am in North West NJ & we have finches who live in our bushes most of the year. Nice noise!

they could be grouping together to migrate, or they could be something like House Sparrows that are year round residents and tend to be very noisy when in groups. Try to identify them, and you can probably figure out what they are doing.

It's fall migration. Maybe they are heading south. If you figured out what kind they were, that would help you figure out if they live there year round or not.
