no, all microwaves do is use infrared radiation to heat anything up in the thing. this is heat and heat only, so unless you have some really poor quality china, you'll be fine.

Oh, and another misconception. METAL DOES NOT KILL A MICROWAVE, I nuke tinfoil, and spoons all the time. they come out hot but thats it.
