This person stood up and pissed on the couch. others witnessed it. What is an acceptable punishment for something like this?

The offender, an acquiantence, who was uninvited, is in a frat. He says this is "par for the course."

i would put their urine inside their beer bottle and make them drink it since they are "unaware of their actions":)

Offender needs to replace couch at once. You need to go and shop for a reasonably priced used couch (you guys are all students, $$$ issue) and he needs to go along. It is a lesson that he needs to learn--to be responsible.

The couch cannot successfully be cleaned as the urine will soak into the material used to stuff the couch.

He needs to learn to be polite to his hosts, hold his liquor or not drink alcohol at all. We had a guy in college that finally had to leave for alcohol rehab because he just couldn't handle it.

If he doesn't replace couch--BANNED from any more of your parties.

The next time you see him (sober) tell him if he can't hold his liquor he doesn't drink with you any more...and I'm sure the embarrasement of being seen like that by so many should make him not mind paying for any cleaning that needs to be done to your couch. People don't realize they have a drinking problem until something stupid happens. Next time, he gets cut off before he gets stupid drunk. There's a difference between drinking to party and have fun, and drinking yourself into a stupor...his kidneys will pay for it if he keeps it up. Much less other health problems over drinking causes.

Believe it or not this has happened to a friend of mine. Her husbands friend gets drunk at her house almost every weekend. He pissed on her couch every time. She threw it out and he started sleeping in their camper. Needless to say they had to throw away the mattress there to. They decided to fix him up. They went to the store and bought some adult depends diapers. The next weekend they had a party with all of their friends there including the "pissed on" one. They gave him the depends in front of the all. Well they don't have to worry about any more. He doesn't get drunk there anymore. He said he didn't know he was doing it either.

First of all, I'd make sure that I served him with a TRESPASS WARRANT -- and if he did come close or try to enter my property again -- I'd call the police and have him arrested.

Then ... since you are going to need the couch cleaned after this nasty business -- I'd make sure I keep the estimates, the receipts, and sue him in Small Claims Court for the Damage to my couch -- especially if he can't get up enough self-respect and respect for others to offer to pay for the cleaning of the couch for you in the first place.

UGH, so gross. Well, he's drunk, so I would call him a taxi and get him home. If he calls you and appologizes just say "Look, it's fine man, but you REALLY need to watch how much booze you gulp down if you want to come over again. People don't just **** on people's couches, man. You seriously overdid it, but we're cool if you never do that **** again." Be cool about it, but show him where you stand. Maybe you can both laugh it off, but frat boys are like that, you'll just have to watch him closer next time, maybe take a drink out of his hand if you have to. And torch your couch..... :-\

If he's that thickheaded, just bring him over to your house and show him his peestain, grab the collar or his shirt and push his face into the pee and say "WHAT DID YOU DO??????? WHAT DID YOU DOOOO???!?!???!?!?!? >:O" I think fido would get the message quick, ha ha, I just made myself laugh writing that one...

You can shampoo all you want, but if this is like cat urine, the smell won't come out! If this guy shows up again, if I were you, I'd throw a plastic tarp over the couch...seriously.

what he should do and what he WILL do to make up for his actions are two different things...
of course he should replace or repair the item he damaged, but good luck getting him to do the right thing...if he's comfortable urinating on other people's furniture-he's probably not real concerned with right and wrong...
i think you might just use this as an opportunity to learn....and be careful who you let into your home in the future

Make him pay to have the sofa steam cleaned, and if that does not take care of it, he should be held responsible for replacing it. I don't understand why he feels it is "par for the course" yes, I guess this is true if you are a drunken idiot. What a jack a@@! Good luck, If he did not make amends, I would probably take him to civil court, just on principal. Good luck and God bless*

I would make him buy a new couch. It's no excuse just because he was drunk. There is no way I'd every use that couch again!

Really depends on how well you know that person.
I will forget about it if that person is someone who is a good friend of mine. I really mean good, someone who I'll be surprised if he/she did it.
If not, since they are drunk, insist that they stay till they are sober and make them lie on the couch and sleep and make sure they clean it when they wake up.
Uninvited? Good. Call the cops now. they are trespassing
