He didn't fool all of us, but, yes, as a country, we were duped by the great liar.

As you can see from a number of these answers, he's still fooling people. It is amazing there is anybody left that still links 9/11 and Iraq.

No. Here is a quick explanation from a Republican.

9-11 Happened. We went into Afghanistan and replaced their government. Bush was already suspicious about Iraq, because of what happened when Bush 41 was in office. They cherry-picked some data, and relied on other data that turned out to be from unreliable sources, and concluded (as did most of the Democrats) that Iraq was developing WMDs. We invaded the country and replaced the government. No WMDs, or evidence that there was an active program in place, was discovered. Bush and Rumsfeld probably thought that if we could get the new government up and running and get our troops out quickly, the absence of WMDs would not have been any big deal (that's why Bush changed his reason for the invasion from "WMDs" to "removing Hussein". However, insurgents began attacking our troops, then each other, and that has continued to this day. Many Republicans, like myself, gave Bush the benefit of the doubt at first, figuring that it would be over in a few months. But it didn't turn out that way. As a result, the American public became so fed up with it all that the idea of electing a bunch of left-wing liberals to office seemed like a good idea. Lots of very good Republican politicians who were doing great jobs lost in the election, simply because they had an "R" after their names.

The Democrats don't have a plan for Iraq, and the American people don't like their liberal social agenda. They only won the election because of anger toward Bush.

The short answer: No.

Those of you who still refuse to accept the nature of the current world need to wake up.

China recently surfaced a Sub within shooting distance of one of our carriers without the Carrier group even knowing it.

Iran has a trained total available military force almost 5 times larger than ours.

North Korea tested a nuclear weapon.

None of these countries is our friend in international affairs, and Iran openly advertises their opposition to us and desire to destroy our nation.

Hitler grew a large army under strict defense guidelines from WWI by training troops then releasing them to the reserves.

Counting all reserves, the world militaries are listed below:
1. Iran: 11.77 Million
2. China: 7.024 M
3. North Korea: 5.995 M
4. South Korea: 5.209 M
5. India: 3.773 M
6. Russia: 3.037 M
7. U.S.: 2.369 M
8. Taiwan: 1.965 M
9. Brazil: 1.687 M
10. Pakistan: 1.449 M

How many allies do we have in the top ten? 3? Maybe 4?

Something's brewing, and by ignoring it, you only make the US that much more vulnerable...

Fear has never been a good adviser. The bombing of Afghanistan and invasion of Irak responded, according to most people to fear. If you see it from politics, then interests are what move any decision.
Sadly casualties have been not only a lot, but also a way to say that violence is not the proper response to most conflicts, including this one.
