He's getting bored with the same TV Network sites like Playhouse Disney, etc.... and I want a safe site w/o popups.

His time on it is very limited. I'd rather he play something interactive than watch TV during these times.

First, go outside and play with your child, go to an arts and crafts store and buy art supplies, (children should be challenged to create and use their imagination at this age) take him or her to a library, a playgroup, the Y, or other classes . They should be developing social skills with other children. If your child goes on the web it should be with YOU by his or her side at all times, even if it is a child centered site. There are child centered sites, such as Disney and Nick but they will have advertisements and popups. Normally the more interactive the site, the more you have to allow popups which also means the more you have to monitor the use.

I agree that the computer (or TV, video games, etc) shouldn't be the main source of entertainment for your child. But www.kiddonet.com is a good site. Consider a pop-up blocker.

None...kids that age don't need to use the computer to curb boredom. Take him outside or get him some of those interactive games that are educational and fun.
