i have tested all three beta versions of IE7 and found no problems at all with Windows XP Pro., platform. I have installed in two computers IE7 an experienced no conflict.

Would suggest that IE7 has extensive security added not found in IE6. If you do not bank on line or make cc purchase on line I would suggest that you do as I did, and turn of a security device they have in the second tray up from the main tray. (You will see a white square box with a round yellow ball, with "!", in the center of the ball. This is a new secuirty that scans every webpage you open to make sure it is the correct webpage and not a rogue webpage.

I opend the white square box and turned off their "phishing", security as this security will slow down web surfing. If you do bank and shop on line then leave as it is excellent protection. If not turn off an it will speed up your web surfing as it will not scan any webpage you open.

I am using Windows Internet Explorer 7 RC1. My opinion is that don't use it unless Microsoft Releases the full release version.

IE7 RC1 is over protective and it can get annoying sometimes as you have to click many times to confirm annoying popups.

But it has it plus sides. It is far more safer and includes a phishing filter and a new, user friendly interface.

I did run into a couple of glitches, such as computer freezes while using IE7 RC1. And some websites don't support IE7 yet.

I suggest you wait till Microsoft releases the final version, and then download it. Or you might want to use Mozilla Firefox.

Download IE7: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.asp

I am a web designer and IE7 is causing many problems for me and other designers. I have had to adjust all of my site to work with IE7, these worked fine with IE6, i am not talking about complicated scripts but basic menu links going to blank pages, I hope they put out a fix for it real soon....grrrrrrrrrrr

Personally i would wait till the first bug fix is available for download

I can't even install it. I've even turned off my anti-virus and firewall (like Microsoft recommends) and restarted when they tell me to, but the installation ends up taking 10 minutes, then a failed installation message comes up. While I'm waiting there 10 minutes it doesn't even track the progress of the installation because the little green dot just keeps looping and looping.

I don't believe my situation is "the norm". I am a little angry that it's not working, though. When I installed Firefox 2.0 it just asks me to close Firefox and a minute later it's installed.

IE7 will also do a "Windows Genuine Authentication" to see if your copy of Windows is genuine, and they also recommend you install and run their "Malicious Software Removal Tool".

The whole experience makes me wonder if all their security is worth my frustration.

I'd suggest you take a look at this website. It was written by a Microsoft MVP who has been working with Internet Explorer since 1999. The "Known Issues" section is an eye-opener.

I haven't heard anything good about IE 7. Do your self a favor and do not install it. Wait until Bill Gates gets the bugs all fixed. Go with firefox or opera instead.

I have used it and it is annoyingly secure. jsut like windows vista, its checks and double checks when you are going to an untrusted site, makes it dificult to change security settings and is confusing when you have an invalid site certificate. other than that its ok. however i would use Firefox its much better.
