Today is November 13th and it's the Monday after Rememberance Day. There is an office building across from my condo, and it seems as if the parking lot is empty. Will stores, government offices and libraries be closed for today too?

Most government offices and banks are closed today. If any statutory holiday falls on what is normally a day off; the next business day the office is closed. Libraries I would check on.

Since the actual holiday November 11 Remembrance Day falls on the Saturday , government offices and banks usually take the following Monday off as well. I guess since they already have Saturday off they need to take an actual day of the week off. It makes no sense to me!

Schools are open, most things are open, Its a national holiday however unfortunatley, I don't feel that its appreciated here in Canada as much as it is in the U.S.A. Too bad.
