Were you working prior to your back surgery? You might qualify for disability. If you have been paying into Social Security, you also might qualify for payments through them.

First of all are you at home on your computer? If you are, that would be the first thing to get rid of is the internet service. If you are at a library or other using one good step.
Call your state DHS, there must be some kindo f help or even title 19 throught he state to help you with medical bills and assistance. There is a lsit int he phone book and chruch members can guide you to more help. Keep on- SS disability may help since you have been working so many years. Call them, your SS office.
Not too wise to post your address and name on here. Not a safe thing. Might want to rethink that and remove it. And I hope you were not expecting people to send you money by posting it.
Prayers are with you and I am sorry you are in this situation. Do you have family that can help? Try your state DHS for food stamps/rent/even medical.
God Bless

I had the same problem while a short stay in north Texas. Church leaders would just give me phone #'s and point me in the direction of the welfare line. I was able to work, just could not get a job. Bills were pilling up and I had a wife and two kids to support alone. I was so pissed at these so-called church people for being so self-righteous and thinking they were helping. I had to sell my gun, my van and even borrow money to survive. But eventually good came out of these trials, and I realize where many in the body of Christ fail........that is if they are really even in the body of Christ?? humm? I see your address, and I shall see what I can do. Until then don't waste your time begging from so-called churches, alot would rather give where it can be seen. "not all churches" are this way, just alot! I will keep in touch to see where you are standing. In Christ, joshua kelly

Have you tried welfare or disability services through your state and social security? Temporary SSI? What about going to them and asking about availability of organizations like food drives, etc. Community action and that sort of thing. Also, Yahoo has a great site called freecycle.com. That is a community of people that you can locate to your personal area. It is a trading site. No money involved. You can not buy or sell anything. People have or want things and trade them out. It's like one big free garage sale. You might check that out. You could also do this instead of asking the churches for money directly. You could ask them to do an assistance drive for you so that the congregations can help. Tell the church figureheads what your need is and ask them to convey your needs to their congregations and request their assistance in heloing you. A good church will do what ever they can to help. Good luck, get well soon and I hope this helps. I will be praying for you.

It seems like all CNA's fall victim to back trouble. I'm sure it's from lifting patients. Does your county have a Poor Relief Fund? I live in Indiana, and my county has one.
See, also, if there is a Ministerial Association in Fort Wayne that might be able to help you.

Have you tried seeking disability from your state? Also your own or any church family should be able to put you in contact with the right folks who can do more by lending a helping hand. Perhaps your local Salvation Army can help as well. I hope you are well soon.
