A very famous example of mimicry is that of the coral snake and the scarlet kingsnake. Coral snakes are venomous, while scarlet kingsnakes are not. They all have similar coloration (alternating bands of red, black, and yellow), but the bands are in a different order in the coral snake. In the scarlet kingsnake, the red and black bands touch eachother, while in the coral snake the red and yellow bands touch. There's an easy rhyme to remember this: red and yellow, kill the fellow, red and black, venom lack. There are many other variations on this rhyme. The scarlet kingsnakes benefit from this mimicry because predators cannot tell the difference between them and coral snakes. Once a predator has learned not to mess with a coral snake, it will also avoid scarlet kingsnakes, even though they are harmless.

The best example of mimicry is the Viceroy butterfly which mimics the Monarch.
When they are caterpillars, Monarchs eat a lot of milkweed. So when they are adult butterflies, they are very bitter. If a bird attempts to at a monarch butterfly, the bitterness is such that the bird will never try it again. Because Viceroy butterflies look so much like Monarchs, birds avoid eating them even though they don't actually taste bad.

Rodney is the most obnoxious of the mimicking animals. He does it for various reasons including companionship, neutralizing predators, need to be accepted, and lame attempts at humor, like this one.

People. Hog calling, duck calling and such. The usual reason is to attract the hog or duck so we can kill it and eat it.
